Public Notice - Road Closures for Bridge Works

As part of Mitchell Shire Council’s capital works program, we’re replacing two bridges. To ensure the bridge replacement works can be completed safely and in a timely manner, we will have a number of road closures in place. Dates may change slightly depending on weather and the previous work schedule.

Emergency services agencies, school bus operators and mail contractors have been notified of the proposed road closures and will adjust their emergency response procedures for the duration of the works.

The two bridges are funded directly by Mitchell Shire Council ($410,000).

1438 Tooborac-Baynton Road Closed from 10 September for approximately 1-2 weeks (depending on weather and previous work schedule) > No access to Tooborac-Baynton Road from Lancefield-Tooborac Road and Dairy-Flat Road > Detour via Lancefield-Tooborac Road and Emu Flat-Baynton Road (9km) > Replacement of bridge deck

1423 Panyule Road

Closed from 3 September for approximately 1-2 weeks (depending on weather and previous work schedule) > No access to Duells Lane or Panyule Road from Seymour-Tooborac Road > Detours in place via Daisyburn Road, The Bridle Track and Seymour-Tooborac Road (19km) and Northern Highway and Seymour-Pyalong Road (32km) > Replacement of entire bridge structure
