Animal Health members, along with vet staff from the Barkly Veterinary practice, went to Wutunugurra (Epenarra) last month for a day-long desexing program. The team set up in the Women’s Centre and desexed six dogs (three female and three male). Regional Animal and Environmental Health Manager Paul Wilson and Environmental Health worker Scott Spurling also administered Ivermectin (internal/external parasite control) to 45 dogs around the community. Another dog was treated for a leg ailment and given antibiotics and a cortisone shot. Regional Animal and Environmental Health Manager Paul Wilson said it was a successful day for the common goal of animal health and thanked the community for welcoming the team.
