The popular EV’s Hangout drop-in program, which runs out of EV’s Youth Centre, will soon be reopening for the start Term 3.
EV’s is a free drop-in centre that provides a safe and welcoming space for young people to be themselves, share ideas and be inspired, with programs catering for ages 10-25.
EV’s Hangout provides – a chilled-out space where young people can meet friends, check out the latest video games, or challenge each other to a game of pool. It also has loads of youth-friendly activities and resources, including free internet access.
The venue is also well-known for running music events for young people in the local area, is host to Maroondah Youth Services’ range of youth programs, events and workshops, including Bassline Battle (FReeZA Push Start) and other gigs.
It’s open to young people aged 12-25 and runs between 3pm and 6pm every Thursday (during school terms). It will reopen its doors in the first week back to school for Term 3, on Thursday 19 July.
Thousands of young people use the venue each year as a meeting place, a source of information and education, and as an entertainment venue.
Aside from being a great place to chill out, EV’s also has a team of qualified youth workers on hand to offer support and help to young people – anything from how to get involved in the community, advice on getting a job and school, to help with dealing with personal or family issues, or if you’re just having a hard time.
Anyone who’s aged 12-25 is welcome and you’ll find it an amazingly friendly place where you can be yourself and always feel welcome.
