The Ashburton Seniors Centre will soon undergo an exciting redevelopment so that we can continue to deliver outstanding health and wellbeing opportunities for our senior community.

A brand new Ashburton Seniors Centre is set to be designed and completely rebuilt with the aim of creating a space that is easily accessible, and better suited to deliver the activities and services the seniors in our community needs.

Every week hundreds of people enjoy activities at the centre, including cultural interest groups, seniors’ exercise classes, craft sessions, movie afternoons, board game sessions and a coffee club.

However, the current building is more than 50 years old and is no longer able to meet the growing and changing needs of seniors in the community, or deliver all of the activities and services that are needed.

We want to hear from you.

Help us tailor the Ashburton Seniors Centre so that we can meet the needs of our senior community.

We’re inviting you to join us at a community information session and morning tea so that we can capture your feedback and give you the opportunity to see initial concept designs.

At the information session you can view the concept plans and hear about the project.
