The City of Swan has awarded $2,000 to the Swan View and Districts Agriculture and Arts Society to fund their upcoming Horses in Action equestrian event.
Horses in Action is set to take place at the State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon on October 13 and is free for the whole community to attend.
The equestrian event is one of a handful of agricultural events with Royal Agricultural Society qualifying status, enabling equestrian competitors to gain points for participation at the Perth Royal Show 2019.
City of Swan Mayor David Lucas said he is delighted to support the event.
“The City is proud to provide support to an event that brings the community together and encourages equestrian participation at all levels,” he said.
“I’d like to congratulate the Swan View and Districts Agriculture and Arts Society on their successful application and wish them a successful Horses in Action event.”
Pearce Ward Councillor Kevin Bailey said the City offers Swan Event Sponsorships for various types of events - both large and small.
“These grants support events that promote the City of Swan’s image, increase the general awareness of the region, foster community spirit and pride, and provide volunteering opportunities for residents,” he said.
“Applications for grants of up to $5,000 for smaller events can be made at any time of the year, and bigger grants for major events are offered twice a year.
“Swan Event Sponsorships are just one part of the City of Swan Community Funding Scheme, which aims to build sustainable local communities and enhance the social well-being and development of our community.”
