The Gallery at Bayside Arts and Cultural Centre’s new Freshwater/Saltwater exhibition brings together works by 12 contemporary artists alongside historical works drawn from Shepparton Art Museum’s collection and selected coastal works from the Bayside Art and Heritage Collection.
Significant works on display at the Gallery for the first time include Frederick McCubbin’s Brighton Beach, on loan from the Mildura Arts Centre, and John Ford Paterson’s Rickett’s Point.
The exhibition is a collaboration between The Gallery at Bayside Arts and Cultural Centre and Shepparton Art Museum, which generously loaned a number of works from their collection.
Works by contemporary artists including Nici Cumpston, Viki West, William McKinnon, Jill Orr, Narelle Autio and Andrew Hazewinkle sit alongside historical works by Abram Louis Buvelot, Eugène von Guérard, John Longstaff, Clarice Beckett, Roland Wakelin and others.
The exhibition is on display at Bayside Arts & Cultural Centre from 21 July until 9 September.
