Lions Park on The Terrace at St George will close for up to two weeks from 6 August for the installation of soft fall, synthetic grass and fence around the playground.

The $34,000 upgrade is being completed with funding from the Queensland Government’s Regional Economic Development Program.

Mayor Richard Marsh said the upgrade would benefit all who use the park.

“We are improving the safety of children using the playground by installing soft fall material in the playground and laying synthetic grass,” he said.

“The new fence will also enclose the entire area which will give parents some peace of mind knowing their children are safe in the playground.

“We thank the State Government for their support in getting this work completed and also thank parents for their patience while these works take place.”
