Draft Designs Released for Drouin Civic Park Upgrade

Published on 24 July 2018

Baw Baw Shire Council is seeking community feedback on draft designs for a play space upgrade and other related projects at Drouin’s Civic Park.

The draft designs have been developed based on key themes in the Drouin Civic Park Masterplan (adopted in April 2017) and community feedback/ideas heard during the first phase of consultation held in May 2018.

Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Joe Gauci thanked the community for their input and fantastic ideas which formed the inspiration for the draft designs.

“During the first phase of consultation we received 136 submissions outlining what the community would like to see in the park. We’ve utilised this feedback to draft some designs and now we’re asking... Have we got it right?”, said the Mayor.

“The draft designs feature diverse and challenging play equipment including small elements of water play, trampolines, climbing structures and flying foxes. There’s even a proposed parkour area, plans for fitness equipment and lots of open space to kick about.

“We want to build on the success of the Warragul Civic Park play space upgrade and deliver an exciting, dynamic park space for Drouin which caters for residents of all ages, interests and abilities.

“This second phase consultation seeks to ensure we’ve captured the community’s visions for the park. If you’re a keen park user, we highly encourage you to review the draft designs and let us know your feedback.”
