A community tree planting event will help revegetate the Bremer River along Shapcott Park this Sunday July 29.
Ipswich City Council is hosting the free event on National Tree Day in conjunction with the Peaks to Points Festival.
Conservation and Environment Committee Chairperson Kerry Silver said the Peaks to Points Festival sees coordinated environmental and sustainability events and activities across Ipswich, Brisbane, Redlands and Logan.
“The Peaks to Points Festival is an opportunity for residents and visitors from the Greater Brisbane area to gain awareness and be involved in the protection of Ipswich’s natural assets,” she said.
“The 2018 Festival has already proven popular with another local activity supported by council, a Tour of Ipswich’s Tributaries, already booked out.”
The National Tree Day Planting will be at Shapcott Park, 118 Gladstone Road, Coalfalls on Sunday July 29, 2018. The event is free, with trees and equipment provided.
