An historic event last month that saw young people from all communities across the MacDonnell Shire gather for a jamboree at the Ross River campgrounds. Under the name Come Together, the youth jamboree ran from Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 June and while centred around music it also included many different activities. Organised by our Youth Development team it was the original idea of our first group of Music Industry Rangers.
Dreamed up by the Music Industry Rangers the youth jamboree is a very significant outcome of the program so far. The success of Come Together demonstrates the quality of ideas and the kind of skills and enthusiasm the MacDonnell Shire can look forward to.
