Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries and Minister for the Arts Don Harwin recently announced a Far West resident Is one of the recipients of this year’s Museums & Galleries NSW Fellowship, Mentorship & Volunteer Placement program.
Jade Kerin of Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery is one of seven NSW museum practitioners selected to share a total of $20,000 in funding for professional development opportunities for arts and cultural workers across the State.
At the Art Gallery NSW, Jade will focus her mentorship on understanding the institution’s approaches to visitor experience, marketing and volunteer management to help her develop learning for the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery as well as her own network of industry relationships.
“I’m delighted to hear that Jade’s dedication is being rewarded. This opportunity will strengthen the arts and culture space throughout the Barwon community and across the region.
“It is fantastic that our smaller museums and galleries continue to receive this investment each year,” Kevin Humphries said.
Minister for the Arts Don Harwin said the funding brings benefits for both the individual and organisation.
“Being able to offer opportunities for career advancement is a gesture of our appreciation for the hard work from our museum and gallery workers across the State.
“Recipients will learn from some of the leading experts across the State and beyond, and I have no doubt that they will also be able to apply their learnings to their work on their return,” Minister Harwin said.
The Fellowship, Mentorship and Volunteer Placement Program is a Create NSW devolved funding program administered by Museums & Galleries of NSW through annual Small Grants funding of $300,000.
