Bathings boxes heritage listing
Bayside City Council 26 Jul 2018

The Brighton Bathing Boxes and Dendy Street Beach are an iconic tourist attraction and Council welcomes their listing on the Victorian Heritage Register.

Council was generally supportive of the application to include the Bathing Boxes on the register given their cultural heritage significance.

The area included in the listing extends beyond the bathing boxes and incorporates the Brighton Lifesaving Club. Council is seeking to upgrade the Club as part of the Dendy Beach Pavilion project and is currently assessing the implications of the heritage listing on these plans.
