A Planning Scheme Amendment, affecting eight parcels of land across the Campaspe Shire, is now on public exhibition and open for public comment.
Mayor Cr Adrian Weston said the amendment (Amendment C110) plans to change the planning zone of eight identified parcels of land, to correct errors identified following the introduction of the new Campaspe Planning Scheme format, rezone land formerly owned by council, and change the zone required to enable growth of two existing cemeteries.
“All zone changes align to how the land is being used, or planned to be used, and apply to both public and private land in Echuca, Rochester, Kyabram and Tongala,” Cr Weston said.
Affected landowners have been directly notified of the amendment, as well as adjoining landowners.
The amendment is now on public exhibition until 3 September to allow those affected by the proposed amendment to familiarise themselves with the content, seek clarifications, and to provide comment for council to consider.
A ‘drop in’ community information session has also been scheduled for Tuesday, 14 August, 5.30 – 6.30pm at the Kyabram Community Learning Centre, Lake Road, Kyabram.
“This has been arranged to allow one-on-one discussion with the community regarding the proposed amendment,” Cr Weston said.
In addition to the information session, council officers will be available, by appointment, to discuss the amendment during the exhibition period.
Once the Planning Scheme Amendment is finalised, the changes will be implemented to the zones set out in the Campaspe Planning Scheme, a document which sets out the use and development of land across the shire.
Details of the amendment can be viewed on council’s website.
