What is the Online Community Panel?
The Online Community Panel is one way in which our local community can participate in Council's decision-making process. It provides an opportunity for residents to express their thoughts, ideas and concerns on a range of topics.
Your feedback and input ensures your voice is heard.
Members of the Panel are invited via email to respond to 4 to 6 surveys about city-wide issues each year. All information collected from the Panel is reported to Council to help them better understand community views before making decisions about the City's future.
Panel Members go into regular draws to win prizes for completing surveys and receive newsletters electronically from time to time to advise the outcomes of recent surveys.
Why an Online Community Panel?
The Online Panel is a convenient and cost effective method to obtain community input on a range of topics and themes relating to Council and the local community. As the surveys are provided to your registered email address, you can complete them in your own time in the comfort of your home or office.
This form of consultation is used for city-wide issues in addition to traditional methods of consultation.
Council values Community consultation as an important tool for Local Government operations and this form of consultation enables a larger proportion of our community to have their say of important issues.
What sort of issues will I be asked about?
The Online Panel is generally used to seek information about Council's strategic directions, policies, spending and services. The Panel is asked each year about Council's Annual Business Plan and Budget, and biennially about Community Satisfaction. Council may also seek feedback in relation to important local issues which arise throughout the year.
