Naming of parks and roads Proposed naming of parks in the Willowdale development, Denham Court

Council resolved at its meeting on 10 April 2018 to name four parks in the ‘Willowdale’ residential development, Denham Court. The proposed park names have been selected to acknowledge the Aboriginal heritage of the local area. A copy of this naming proposal is on public exhibition at the Civic Centre, 91 Queen Street, Campbelltown and online.

Proposed road name

This is to give notice under the provisions of Clause 7 of the Roads Regulation 2008 that Council has approved Antares Lane as the name for a new laneway within Stage 1 of the ‘Macarthur Heights’ residential development.

Development proposals 42 Ben Lomond Rd, Minto

Council has received a development application from 7-Eleven Stores Pty Ltd for the upgrade of an existing service station at Lot 1 DP 839276, 42 Ben Lomond Rd, Minto. As the application involves the installation of new fuel storage tanks, the application is being assessed under and exhibited pursuant to the provisions of State Environmental Planning Policy 33 – Hazardous and Offensive Development. All applications affected by this policy are required to be publicly exhibited. 

Campbelltown City Council is the consent authority for this development application. 

The application and accompanying Statement of Environmental Effects are on exhibition and available for review at the ground floor of Council’s Civic Centre during Council’s ordinary office hours; HJ Daley Library, Hurley St, Campbelltown; Greg Percival Library, Cnr Oxford and Cumberland Rds, Ingleburn, and the offices of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.

Unless the proposed development is development about which the Independent Planning Commission has conducted a review, any person who makes a submission by way of objection, and who is dissatisfied with the determination of the consent authority to grant development consent, may appeal to the Land and Environment Court. If the Independent Planning Commission conducts a review, the Minister’s determination of the application is final and not subject to appeal.

263 Queen St, Campbelltown

On 19 March 2018, the Sydney Western City Planning Panel refused a development application by Michael Brown Planning Strategies for the restoration of and additions to the existing heritage-listed former CBC Bank building, demolition of an existing commercial building at the rear of the site and construction of a 21 storey building at the rear of the site incorporating two levels of commercial tenancies and 101 residential apartments over 19 levels, and four levels of basement car parking at Lots 1 & 2 SP 41598, 263 Queen St, Campbelltown. 

The applicant has appealed the Panel’s decision in the Land and Environment Court, and revised plans have been received by Council in respect of this appeal. The revised plans indicate a reduction in number of storeys from 21 to 16, reduction in the number of apartments from 101 to 72, and reduction in the number of basement levels from four to three. 

The proposed development was identified as Nominated Integrated Development as it required an approval from the Heritage Office under the Heritage Act 1977.

The amended application and accompanying Statement of Environmental Effects are on exhibition and available for review at the ground floor of Council’s Civic Centre during Council’s ordinary office hours; and at HJ Daley Library, Hurley St, Campbelltown.

Menangle Rd Menangle Park

Council has received a development application from APP Corporation Pty Ltd for civil works and the subdivision of land into 89 Torrens title allotments. The application presents Stage 2A of the Menangle Park land release. The development is proposed at part Lot 1 DP 598067, Menangle Rd, Menangle Park.

The subject land comprises proposed residue Lot 1256 in Stage 1 of the Menangle Park release (3885/2017/DA-SW), which is currently under assessment by Council.

Campbelltown City Council is the consent authority for this development application.

The proposal is identified as Integrated Development as it requires an Aboriginal Heritage Impact Permit under Section 90 of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974, a Bushfire Safety Authority from the Rural Fire Service under the Rural Fires Act 1997 and approval pursuant to Section 22 of the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act 2017.

The application and accompanying Statement of Environmental Effects are on exhibition and available for review at the ground floor of Council’s Civic Centre during Council’s ordinary office hours; and at HJ Daley Library, Hurley St, Campbelltown.
