HomeNews Articles Council on tour with community barbecues
Friday 27 July, 2018

Tamworth Regional Council is hitting the road next week as part of Local Government Week and residents are invited to meet with Council representatives at various events being held across the Region.

Held each year, Local Government Week sees councils across NSW host a range of events and activities to showcase their day-to-day work to the community. The theme this year is ‘The Power of Community’.

Tamworth Region Mayor, Col Murray, said the roadshow is a great opportunity for Council to promote the important services it delivers.

“While many people are aware that Councils manage rates, roads and rubbish, the breadth and diversity of our work often goes unrecognized,” he said.

“I invite residents to come along to one of the community barbecues we have planned next week to meet with Council staff and Councillors and learn more about services we offer locally. Our friendly staff will be available to talk with residents about the projects we are working on in their area as well as answer questions they may have about any of Council’s services.”

Tamworth Regional Council’s Community Roadshow events will be held at five different locations – one each day next week - and will run from 11am to 1pm, with a free sausage sizzle and information packs for those who attend. Go and see for yourself:
