The City of Armadale is putting the call out for local bands and musicians to play at its free youth music event, FRAMED Fiesta! The annual drug, alcohol, and smoke free music event for 13 to 18 year olds will be held at the newly opened Rossiter Pavilion in Piara Waters on Friday 17 August from 6 to 9pm.
A number of local youth bands will be chosen to showcase their talents and entertain the crowd with a combination of pop and rock music, so bands are encouraged to apply through the City's website before 27 July 2018.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said that the annual youth music event was an important date on the calendar for the City's young people, and is a great chance for young bands to get some exposure early in their musical careers.
“This event is hugely important for our City's young people, and is a great opportunity for young bands to showcase their talents to a live audience.”
“The City of Armadale is home to many young and talented emerging musicians, and we are proud to provide this event to support them.”
FRAMED Fiesta! runs alongside the Outside the Frame Youth Art Awards, and will include live music, games, performances, competitions and spontaneous dance battles led by local DJ Tobias. Bands selected to perform at the event will also be offered the opportunity to perform an acoustic session at Armadale Shopping City's inaugural Thursday Night Live sessions and will receive a gift card valid at the centre's retailers.
For further information, or to register to play at the event, young bands are encouraged to visit www.armadale.wa.gov.au/framed or email the City's Community Development Officer – Youth at [email protected].
Young people will be able to book their free tickets to FRAMED Fiesta! soon through the City's website www.armadale.wa.gov.au.
