Armadale Hosts Fashion Spectacular
City of Armadale 17 Jul 2018

Brides to be and fashionistas alike will unite for a bridal and fashion show hosted by the City of Armadale at the picturesque Araluen Botanic Park on Saturday 11 August from 3 to 5.30pm.

The event is being held as part of the City’s Spring into Armadale program, designed to welcome the spring season, while creating trade and tourism opportunities in the arts, fashion and creative businesses in the City and WA.

Models at the event are students from the Fashion Advocate’s Life Skills Mentorship program headed by Professor Jimmy Choo OBE’s Corporate Advisor, Catherine Birch.

Catherine said the event is not to be missed with a wedding themed fashion show and a bridal expo titled ‘Love is in the Air’. The fashion show showcases the results of the program, and the next generation of fashion models.

“The program has been delivered for the past seven years, as an outreach to local schools and communities, identifying male and female students to learn leadership, communication, teamwork and skills to pursue career pathways in the fashion industry,” Catherine said.

Bridal gowns will be provided by designer Samantha Wynne including her own designs and those from Pronovias and Watters Brides. The second show will feature exquisite designs of cocktail and evening wear by Alvin Fernandez of ae’lkemi, one of WA’s couture designers. Jewellery at both shows will be provided by Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm.

Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the Spring into Armadale Fashion Show is always a popular event on Armadale’s social calendar, and this year there’s something special for local and visiting brides to be.

“It is fantastic that we have quality venues such as Araluen Botanic Park in which to deliver these sorts of events, showcasing our wonderful City and all it has to offer to visitors from around the State.”

Patrons will have access to a boutique expo, featuring the Armadale Artist Collective, Tyler Reid Hair, FuMoso Fashion label, Conscious Candle Company, Adored by Sally Jeweller, and local designer Charlene O’Brien Couture. Perth Hills local media personality Carmen Braidwood will MC the event.
