Following an extensive review of its weekend operating hours, the City of Armadale’s Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre will be changing its weekend opening hours to 9am to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, effective from 1 July 2018. Weekday hours will remain unchanged.
The Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre provides tourism information for visitors to the City, and supports local or neighbouring tourism businesses to cross promote or on-sell their product through a membership program. The City of Armadale took over operating the Visitor Centre in 2006.
City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said that the change in opening hours reflected the changing needs of visitors to the City.
“In 2017 an audit was undertaken to record walk-in visitors who accessed the Centre to determine the best hours to service their needs and benefit members.”
“Recording of the daily traffic over 12 months up to May 2018 identified a higher demand for services on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 9am to 2pm, so this will be reflected in the new operating hours on those days, effective from 1 July 2018.”
The centre currently holds a level one accreditation under a national industry program which sets criteria for the hours of operation. These are established and monitored annually by industry and each individual centre within the visitor centre network can determine the needs of visitors they service at a local level.
