Note: during online entry, you will be asked:

to nominate a judging time, 8.30am-3.30pm, 10-21 Sept (weekdays only) which categories (below) you are entering your garden in just one visit per garden is needed (quantity 1).

Entry is free and open to all residents, businesses or groups in the North Sydney local government area (285KB). You are welcome to enter more than one category (below) and at the judges discretion your garden may automatically be judged in categories other than the one entered.

Categories

Category 1 - Most beautiful balcony / courtyard Pots, planter boxes, ornaments, walled gardens. Areas where gardeners are often challenged by limited space and lots of hard surfaces.

Category 2 - Most environmentally friendly garden Demonstrating environmental awareness and creating wildlife habitats. Using recycled materials or using sustainable gardening practices. Show the judge how you are doing your bit for the environment.

Category 3 - Most beautiful commercial garden Schools, hotels, retirement villages, shops and apartment buildings where more than 50% of the gardening work is carried out by professionals

 Category 4 - Most beautiful garden.

Division 4A – Single Dwelling Garden

Division 4B – Shared or multi-dwelling Gardens (where more than 50% of the gardening work is carried out by residents)

Category 5 - The Lex and Ruby Graham Prize for the most beautiful public area maintained by residents. For outstanding contribution made by volunteers to a public area

            Division 5A – Individual

            Division 5B - Groups

Category 6 - Best children’s garden Created or cared for by a child or group of children

Category 7 - Best Urban Forest Garden Recognising gardeners that place the focus on trees and canopy cover rather than the ground level. Providing shade, habitat and atmospheric purification for the whole community.

Category 8 - Best Edible Garden A balcony herb garden through to a full-blown vegetable patch or orchard: any garden that features edible product.

            Division 8B – Community

Category 9 – The Peoples Choice Award for Most Beautiful Public Garden Maintained by Council

Help us to recognise the great work being done by our dedicated team of NSC horticulturists. Nominate your favourite Council garden and/or participate in the judging process by voting for your favourite garden. Nominations for this division close on August 31 and can be made by emailing Council [email protected] or phone 9936 8100.
