Residents can now have their say on Council’s proposal to contract Goldfields Library Corporation to provide library services for the shire for the next four years.
At its July meeting, Council resolved to advertise its intention to enter into a new four year Regional Library Agreement with its current provider Goldfields Library Corporation (GLC).
Mayor, Cr Jennifer Anderson, said GLC had provided a high quality and cost-effective service to the shire.
“Libraries play an important role in the lives of our residents—supporting lifelong learning, as well as providing welcoming spaces for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds,” Cr Anderson said.
GLC provides library services to four member councils, including the City of Greater Bendigo and Loddon, Macedon Ranges and Mount Alexander shires.
Cr Anderson said Council welcomed residents’ feedback on the continued agreement.
“The Regional Library Agreement guides the provision of library services over the next four years in the shire, and confirms the legal framework and corporate governance structure for the corporation,” she said.
Copies of the agreement are available to view at local libraries, Council service centres, and on our Public notices page.
Submissions can be in writing, and sent to Macedon Ranges Shire Council, PO Box 151, Kyneton VIC 3444 or emailed to [email protected] by Tuesday 28 August.
