Ten local groups are to share $37,400 in arts and cultural grants from Council that will bring new and exciting opportunities to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Coffs Coast community.
This year’s funding round includes grants to develop a short film contrasting the experience of growing up in Coffs Harbour as opposed to passing through as a visitor, the screening of the largest science film festival in the southern hemisphere, multi-disciplinary arts projects, workshops and concerts, contemporary dance projects, a creative arts programs for recently settled young people, women and children of refugee backgrounds and musical workshops with clients of Pete’s Place.
Council annually offers grants from $2,000 to $5,000 through its Arts and Cultural Development Grants programme to help support the implementation of the Creative Coffs – Cultural Strategic Plan 2017-2022.

“I am pleased to see an increase this year in projects lead by artists or arts organisations and their commitment to ensuring that the arts are accessible to all members of our community,” said Coffs Harbour Mayor, Councillor Denise Knight.
