Mayor Darriea Turley will be hosting a drop-in session next week to meet with the public and answer questions about Council.
The session will run from 4pm-5pm at Council's Administrative Centre in Blende Street on August 22.
Mayor Turley said the session would be informal, and allow locals to drop in and ask questions, or just chat about Council matters.
"It's a bit of a trial to give people another opportunity to provide feedback and seek information, I want to try and be as approachable as possible in my role as Mayor," she said.
"I'll endeavour to answer all questions on the day, and if there's anything I can't answer, or that requires some input from staff, I'll be happy to take people's details and get back to them."
Mayor Turley said the sessions could become a regular fixture if there is interest from the community.
"If it proves successful we'll look at doing a session before the Ordinary Council Meeting each month."
Those wishing to book a separate meeting with the Mayor can do so by contacting Council's Executive Support Officer, Louise Schipanski, on 8080 3390.
