There’s no shortage of great pubs in the Adelaide Hills serving local produce, wine and beer from surrounding producers. Try the Stanley Bridge Tavern in Verdun for that vintage-pub feel (EST. 1853) with roaring fires and hearty fare, the Bridgewater Inn for its expansive dining deck or refurbished pubs like the Crafers, Stirling or Uraidla hotels promising impressive interiors and a huge selection of Adelaide Hills beer, wine and spirits.

Lobethal Bierhaus is a small all-grain craft brewery which produces a range of award-winning character beers. With a tasting room, restaurant and beer garden, it’s a great spot to pull up stumps and pass the time.

Prancing Pony Brewery in Totness (between Hahndorf and Mount Barker) uses traditional Southern German brewing methods. Drop into the 'Brewshed' to watch the brewer at work while sampling the beers and trying some unique and traditional brewery snacks.

Left Barrel Brewing has recently flung its doors open bringing another impressive craft beer offering to the Adelaide Hills. Located in the Balhannah Homemaker Centre the expansive micro-brewery produces farmhouse, sour, barrel aged and old beer styles from yesteryear.

Explore the abundant cycling and mountain biking trails of the Adelaide Hills together. With trails in Mount Crawford and Kuipto Forests, Fox Creek and national parks like Cleland Conservation Park, Shepherds Hill Recreation Park and Sturt Gorge Recreation Park, there’s no shortage of places to go out and explore.

You can’t beat the National Motor Museum in Birdwood.  It houses Australia’s most important collection of vintage, veteran and classic motorcars and motor cycles - more than 300 in fact. Dad’s and Carers get free entry on Father’s Day.
