Owners of homes featuring the use of energy-efficient products or building design are invited to be part of this year’s Sustainable House Day.
To be held on Sunday 16 September, the day lets community members get a first-hand look at energy efficient concepts as they apply in real settings by showcasing some of the region’s most sustainable homes.
East Gippsland Shire Council, together with The Hub, Bairnsdale are calling for home owners prepared to showcase their house for Sustainable House Day.
Participants can also select to offer a closed-door option which only includes external viewing of the home.
This year, expressions of interest are being sought from homeowners, architects, builders, specialist service providers and community groups to help out and be involved on the day.
Houses can open their gates for tours and give visitors opportunities to see firsthand the benefits and practicality of solar, ventilation, water harvesting, recycling, shading, passive design, glazing and window treatments, gardens, and lifestyle products.
Anyone wishing to participate or seeking further information should contact Rachael at The Hub in Bairnsdale on 5153 1745.
