Road upgrades to Mount Buninyong Road have created safer surfaces for the region’s cyclists and motorists.
The recent road upgrades at Mount Buninyong Road, between Blackberry Lane and Yendon No 1. Road, have been designed to prevent erosion to the road's edges and to provide safer surfaces for vehicles and cyclists.
The City of Ballarat commenced the works in June, with the road re-opening to traffic earlier this week.
These works included road widening, new concrete mountable kerbs and channel to the north side.
The upgrades have also created wider traffic lanes and 1.2-meter cycle lanes on both sides of the road. Roadside drainage has also been greatly improved.
Road widening works have also been completed on the south side of Buninyong Road near Blackberry Lane. Another section of this road, which was in poor condition, was also patched.
The total cost of the project was $325,000.
