Getting your cat desexed and microchipped can be difficult for people on pensions or low incomes. Fairfield City Council, in partnership with the Cat Protection Society of NSW, is offering these residents a discounted rate on desexing and microchipping their cats.
“Operation Cat”, which runs from 17 to 28 September 2018, is a great opportunity for Fairfield City residents to take advantage of discounted desexing.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said it was important to remember that cats ideally should be desexed before they reach 12-16 weeks of age.
“Desexing male and female cats prevents the birth of unwanted kittens, stops the development of antisocial behaviours such as spraying, and reduces the incidence of fighting," Mayor Carbone said.
“Microchipping your cat is a legal requirement, but more importantly it allows us to reunite lost cats with their loved ones.”
Discounted prices during Operation Cat include pick-up and return of your cat by a Cat Protection Welfare Officer.
There are limited spots available, so register your interest to secure your spot.
Prices are:
• Desex and microchip (female) - $90
• Desex and microchip (male) - $80
• Desex only (female) - $80
• Desex only (male) - $70
• Microchipping only - $30
Booking is essential and you will be required to provide a pensioner number or other proof of low income. To make a booking, phone the Cat Protection Society of NSW on 9519 7201.
This offer is only for Fairfield City residents.
