Ballarat (City) 23 Aug 2018

The recently released Community Perceptions Survey, which must be carried out in various forms by all Victorian councils, has shown residents’ satisfaction with the City of Ballarat’s overall performance is at 72%.

It is significantly higher than 2017’s score of 68% and is much higher than the 2017 combined score of nine other regional councils of 57%.

The survey was carried out in March and April this year to gauge how well the community feels the City of Ballarat is performing.

Areas the City of Ballarat need to work on include:

Improving public transport options Infrastructure improvements, particularly roads and footpaths and Advocacy and engagement with the community

Mayor Cr Samantha McIntosh thanked the residents who took part in the survey, and for the wide range of positive feedback received.

“It was fantastic to see that the people who use our many services are very happy with them. However, we also know there are areas we need to work on and we will continue to work hard to make the improvements asked of us,” Cr McIntosh said.

“We want next year’s City of Ballarat’s survey ratings to be even better than this year and we will strive to achieve this over the next 12 months.”
