New Melbourne Visitor Hub unveiled at Town Hall

The new Melbourne Visitor Hub at Town Hall replaces the Melbourne Visitor Centre at Federation Square, which was recently closed to make way for the Victorian Government's Metro Tunnel project.

The Town Hall hub will offer improved Wi-Fi access, visitor information and tactile activations highlighting the latest events and activities happening across the city.

The hub will be staffed by Melbourne's 'red coat' city ambassadors, who provide local and international visitors with tips and inside knowledge of Melbourne's best experiences.

A second hub at the Queen Victoria Market will be launched later this year. The hub will feature a range of information and displays to celebrate and promote the market, including its events program and much-loved character and heritage, along with broader city experiences. Visitors will also be able to access the latest information on the $250 million Queen Victoria Market Precinct Renewal.

The two new visitor hubs will be located within walking distance of the Metro Tunnel's two new CBD stations and will provide more visitors with the opportunity to experience local knowledge in more locations.

The City of Melbourne's visitor services network includes more than 400 volunteers and staff who work across the Melbourne Visitor Hub, the Melbourne Visitor Booth, the Fitzroy Gardens Visitor Centre, the Melbourne Greeter Service and pop-up welcome desks at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, as well as at Station Pier during the annual cruise ship season.
