Released 15 August 2018
Broome community groups and events that would benefit from funding help are encouraged to apply for the latest round of community sponsorship grants.
This is the second round of matched funding available in 2018 after 12 community projects shared more than $56,000 in financial support in the first round earlier this year.
Broome-based community groups can apply for up to $10,000 of matched funding under the Shire of Broome Community Sponsorship, and Energy Developments Pty Ltd West Kimberley Community Donations programs.
Applications open on 15 August for the latest funding round and will be accepted until 14 September 2018.
Broome Shire President, Harold Tracey, said Council was pleased to support the work of Broome’s many community groups and organisations that played a vital role in the life of the town.
“We appreciate the important contribution of these many groups and organisations and the roles they play in making Broome the dynamic community that it is,” Cr Tracey said.
“We also thank energy supplier Energy Developments Pty Ltd for its commitment to Broome and its financial contribution through the West Kimberley Community Donations.”
A portion of the available funding is made possible through a partnership between the Shire of Broome and Energy Developments Pty Ltd.
Anyone considering applying is encouraged to contact Shire of Broome Youth and Community Development Officer, Leah Rakabundel, on (08) 9191 3456 to discuss their project, and application forms and further information is available online at the link below.
