The City of Ballarat would like to congratulate Mitchell Harris Wines on winning the Restaurants, Cafes and Pubs Business Award category at the 2018 Federation Business School Commerce Ballarat Business Excellence Awards.
The City of Ballarat is proud to sponsor the Restaurants, Cafes and Pubs Business Award category which highlighted the achievements of the city’s foodie entrepreneurs who contributed to the growth and development of the region.
“Ballarat is rapidly becoming known for its growing food and wine culture, and it’s our local chefs, butchers, bakers, brewers and barristers who are helping cement our city as the food capital of regional Victoria,” Mayor Samantha McIntosh said.
Cr McIntosh said great food, unique dining experiences and exciting events were playing a significant role in promoting Ballarat to visitors and future residents.
“The city's burgeoning food and wine culture is attracting food lovers from far and wide to our award-wining eateries, from haute cuisine through to edgy coffee shops and lakeside eateries with spectacular views,” Cr McIntosh said.
“What's even more exciting is the high-quality produce - from game and organic vegetables, to farmhouse cheeses and craft brews - which is being grown from our lands and handcrafted by our locals.”
Street dining and trading also plays an important role in the lifestyle and character of the city, and the City of Ballarat is proud to continue to work with the Ballarat community to further this.
The City of Ballarat would like to congratulate category finalists Carboni’s Italian Kitchen, Hop Temple and Mitchell Harris Wines, and Mitchell Harris Wines for taking out this year’s award.
