Do you know an unsung hero who has made a contribution to the community? Do you know a young person who is deserving of recognition? Has your club or association organised an outstanding event?
Nominations are now open for the 2019 Australia Day Awards in the categories of Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Community Event of the Year. The awards will be presented by the Lord Mayor in a ceremony at the Sandy Bay Regatta on Australia Day 2019.
The awards recognise outstanding personal achievements and contributions to the local community, and an outstanding community event.
To be eligible for Citizen and Young Citizen awards, nominees must be an Australian Citizen who has made a noteworthy contribution to the Hobart Community. The Young Citizen award is open to any person who will be under 27 years of age on 26 January 2019.
The Community Event of the Year award is presented to the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the year.
Entries close on Friday 19 October
