Councillor Chris Connor
Councillor Chris Connor has advised his plan to resign his position on council in September this year.
Wollongong City Council General Manager, David Farmer, said that he had received written notification of Councillor Connor’s resignation on Tuesday 14 August 2018.
“Cr Connor has tendered his resignation as a Ward 3, Wollongong City Councillor effective 30 September 2018. Cr Connor was elected to Wollongong City Council in September 2011 and re-elected in 2017.”
“We would like to thank him for his service to the community over the past seven years.”
“We are required to advise the Office of Local Government, Local Government NSW and the Electoral Commission of the vacancy within 7 days. It is likely a by-election will be required before the end of the year,” said Mr Farmer.
Cr Connor will retain all the roles and responsibilities of his position until 30 September 2018.
