The Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House is holding its first Boomerang Bags workshop on Friday 3 August from 9:00am to 12:00 noon.
Boomerang Bags aims to reduce the use of plastic bags in the community by providing reusable fabric bags through local businesses, and helpers are needed to mark out and cut materials, pin, iron, stamp and sew. No experience is needed, but if you do have a sewing machine, please bring it along.
Workshops will be held on Friday mornings and once a month on Saturdays. Keep your eyes on the Boomerang Bags 3225 Facebook page for updates.
The Neighbourhood House is also working on a project to improve program delivery and ensure their programs meet the needs of our community, and they are calling for volunteers to help assess the community’s interests and needs.
If you have strong communication, computer and writing skills, an interest in community development and data analysis, and experience in survey creation and social media, the Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House would love to hear from you.
To find out more about either of these projects, please contact Carolyn at the Queenscliffe Neighbourhood House by phone on 5258 3367 or by email at [email protected].
