Avenue of Honour mulching trial

Council, following input from the Avenue of Honour Community Reference Group, has initiated a mulching trial with the aim of maintaining the health of selected Avenue trees.

The trees are located at the bottom of the former Queenscliff High School site, just opposite the entrance to Camp Wyuna, and there is a third tree further along the Avenue toward the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre. Green shade cloth has been placed around the mulch to prevent it washing over the road in the event of minor flooding.

Council is asking people to avoid parking over the mulched areas, to help preserve the health of the trees and ensure that the mulch is not disturbed while the trial is underway. Please help us by parking your car well away from the mulched areas along the Avenue of Honour.
