City of Albany 1 Aug 2018

1 August 2018

The City of Albany’s draft Albany Local Planning Strategy is now available for public comment.

Albany Mayor Dennis Wellington said the draft Strategy would guide the City’s progress towards becoming Western Australia’s most sought after and unique regional city to live, work and visit.

“The document will provide us with strategic direction to improve Albany’s liveability and deliver a city where residents are closer to local shops, services and employment,” Mayor Wellington said.

“We want to understand how the community would like to see our city grow and develop.”

Community members will have the opportunity to comment on the draft strategy until October 26 and can get involved by downloading the draft strategy and submission form from the City’s website.

Submissions may be made in writing and addressed to City of Albany, PO Box 484, Albany WA 6330 or emailed to [email protected].

Alternatively, residents can attend one of two public information sessions at Albany Public Library where they will be able to speak to a member of the City’s planning team. These sessions will be held on Thursday, August 2 from 4pm to 7pm or Friday, August 3 from 9am – 1pm.

One on one appointments are also available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and can be made by contacting 6820 3040.
