Council commits to Bridge Mall special rate

The City of Ballarat will continue to collect a special rate from Bridge Mall traders to assist with security and promotion.

An alternate motion was passed at Wednesday night’s ordinary meeting of Council, which will see $218,000 collected from traders in the 2018/19 year.

The fee is collected from traders in addition to normal rates and is then returned through the Bridge Mall Business Association to assist with security, promotional activities, a precinct manager, and events.
