Eurobodalla Council will next week resume roadworks to widen and improve safety on Cullendulla Drive at Long Beach.
Council earlier this year completed preliminary works to prepare for widening of the road, including widening the under-road drainage culvert.
Crews will return on Monday 6 August to begin widening, strengthening and resealing the road between the Princes Highway and Kettle Road.
Once complete, the 800m section will have two 3.5-metre wide traffic lanes with a two-metre wide shoulder off both sides.
The project will be conducted in two stages to help manage Cullendulla Drive’s connection with the highway. The first, which is expected to be complete by the end of October, will start at the Princes Highway and continue 170m south-east.
Work on the remaining section to Kettle Road will start soon after and is expected to be finished by December.
Council encourages motorists to allow extra time when travelling through the area. Motorists are also asked to take extra care around the work and to follow traffic control and speed limit signs.
This project is funded by the Australian Government's Bridges Renewal Program ($202,021), the NSW Government’s Restart NSW Program ($668,204) and Council's capital works program ($385,400).
