Market streamlining leads to new experiences
AlburyCity News 3 Aug 2018

The 2018 series will feature  a unique market on Thursday 8 November which will be aligned to the Albury Wodonga Sustainable Living Festival, focusing on stalls that demonstrate sustainability in practices, services and products.

"The November QEII Twilight Market will welcome stalls, foodies and entertainment putting the spotlight on the themes of sustainability.  It's a great way for people to get involved in education, awareness, great tips and a lot of fun, all centred around sustainability in our community," said AlburyCity Events Team Leader, Ros Walls.

The  December market is tipped to be hugely popular again as shoppers look for those unique Christmas gifts that are hand-crafted, quirky and sometimes one-of-a-kind.

Craft beers, great food and quality entertainment will again feature for the entire series.

AlburyCity will dispense with the January to March markets in 2019 to explore new event opportunities, particularly focused on activation of QEII Square, the CBD and riverside precincts.

“Our community is well-served by six markets operating in Albury-Wodonga and 21 across the region. Future markets may be hooked on to other major festivals or events where they fit best and can add to the vibrant atmospheres of our fantastic public spaces."  Ms Walls said.

“We are looking to develop some exciting new events in the CBD and by the river which deliver new visitor and community experiences offering family fun, great food and entertainment.  That's what everyone is telling us they want so we're onto it.”

Applications for the 2018 Market series close on 17 September. Visit the website for more information.
