AlburyCity Councillors and staff have paid tribute to local MP, Greg Aplin, who has announced he won’t recontest his seat of Albury at the next election.
Mr Aplin has held the NSW seat since 2003, when he succeeded the long-serving member, Ian Glachan.
AlburyCity Mayor Kevin Mack said Mr Aplin had been an outstanding servant of the community during his terms in parliament.
“Greg has been a friend to the council and to the community through his tireless work to attract new funding, services and facilities to our city,” he said.
“On behalf of my fellow councillors and the wider community, we thank Greg for his dedication to improving the Albury electorate and we wish him and his family all the best in the next stage of their lives.”
