Council supports new palliative care hub

The Mayor of Ballarat, Cr Samantha McIntosh, has voiced Council’s support for Ballarat’s new palliative care hub.

The first sod was turned at the Lucas site this morning, with the City of Ballarat providing project management support.

Mayor McIntosh said the project would provide the very best end-of-life care.

“Palliative care is obviously a very important and specialised area and we have the utmost respect for our professionals in that sector.”

Ballarat Hospice Care Inc has awarded a contract to Resicare Pty Ltd to build the new multi-million-dollar lotus-style hub designed by Morton Dunn Architects.

 

The project is funded through the Department of Health and Human Services and the Ballarat Hospice Care Inc.
