Ten young Ballarat artists who will have their work put on display at a world forum in Turkey next month have been invited by the Mayor to attend a congratulatory event this afternoon.
In July, Mayor Samantha McIntosh called on the region’s young artists to submit their best paintings for consideration in theColourful Touch to History Children’s Painting Competition as part of the 16th World Conference of Historical Cities.
Ballarat artists aged between 10-13 years submitted their paintings which addressed the theme to be considered for selection in the competition.
As a member of the League of Historical Cities, Ballarat has been invited to submit up to 10 artworks by local students. Selected artworks will be displayed at the world forum which will be held in Bursa, Turkey in September.
These artworks will be displayed in the Trench Room today, with a special afternoon tea being held to acknowledge the 10 winning pieces.
