Two Bayside environmental champions were recognised in Keep Victoria Beautiful Sustainable Cities 2018 Awards last week.
Sam Perkins, winner of our 2017 Youth Community Leadership Award, was awarded the Young Leaders Award for his work leading the Brighton Sea Scouts in monitoring micro-plastics pollution and sand movement at Holloway Beach in Brighton.
The Friends of Bayside Roads group was the runner-up in the Litter Prevention Award, for their work clearing litter from up to 35 kilometres on both sides of Bayside roads every two weeks.
