Your rates help us deliver a wide range of services and programs that contribute to the wellbeing and vibrancy of Yarra, making it a fantastic place for our diverse community to live.
Our programs benefit older people, people with a disability, young people and families, multicultural communities, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and many more. From transport for our less mobile residents to community activities which help reduce social isolation, our services meet the varied needs of our growing community.
We also provide everyday services like waste and recycling removal, maintenance on parks, footpaths and roads and operate a number of key community facilities such as our 5 libraries and 3 leisure centres.
This year we have allocated funding to some key projects: • $1m for upgrades to our sporting facilities • $747,000 for traffic and pedestrian improvements • $185,000 towards a new youth space in Richmond • $15,000 to help the Alliance for Gambling Reform reduce the harmful impacts of gambling • $10,000 to advocate to the State Government for greater investment in sustainable transport
Find out more about how we have allocated our 2018/19 budget.
