Talented young musicians will battle it out in front of a live audience in Cheltenham this month and you’re invited to cheer them on.
Fuse Productions and Kingston Youth Services will be holding their annual Battle of the Sounds heat of the state-wide FReeZa Push Start Series at Cheltenham Hall on Friday August 17 from 6:30pm.
Along with the competition, emerging Melbourne-based metalcore band Pridelands will perform headline the event, which will be opened by last year’s Battle of the Sounds winner Sienna Rose.
Winning performers will take home an industry prize pack.
The winning act will also progress to the regional final, with the potential to reach the grand final at next year’s St Kilda Festival.
The event is fully supervised and presented by Kingston’s youth-led Fuse Productions crew, the Victorian Government’s FReeZA Program, and The Push Inc.
Fuse Productions Crew is made up of young people aged 14-25, and Kingston Youth Services is recruiting crew members with an interest in events, marketing, music, and audio engineering to join.
This year, entry to this fully supervised, drug, alcohol and smoke free event is a gold coin donation to a charity to be announced on a later date.
Battle of the Sounds is on 6:30pm-10:30pm on Friday 17 August at Cheltenham Hall, corner Nepean Highway and Charman Road, Cheltenham.
