Applications for the City of Fremantle’s latest round of Arts and Community Grants are now open.
The City offers arts grants of up to $25,000 and community grants up to $10,000.
The City’s Director of Community Development, Fiona Hodges, said the grants aim to support activities that contribute to the wellbeing, vibrancy and cultural diversity of Fremantle.
“Fremantle is very lucky to have such a diverse and creative artistic community. It’s a part of what makes Fremantle unique,” Ms Hodges said.
“We also have a very caring and compassionate community, with groups and individuals doing incredible work to support some of the most disadvantaged people in our society.
“I’m proud the City is continuing to support these endeavours through our Arts and Community Grants program, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the applications that come through in this latest founding round.”
To assist people in preparing their grant applications the City is running a series of community workshops.
The first will be at 10am tomorrow at Sullivan Hall in White Gum Valley, with others at the North Fremantle Community Centre, The Meeting Place in South Fremantle and the Fremantle PCYC in Hilton over the coming days.
Previous recipients of community grants include St Patricks Community Support Centre, the Noongar Arts Aboriginal Corporation, WA PCYC and the Katina Woodruff Children’s Foundation.
Recipients from the previous round of arts grants include the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, Circus WA and MOMA (Museum of Moving Objects).
Grant applications close on 27 September, with the successful applicants to be announced at the end of November.
