Council has investigated a vacant property in Highett Road, Highett and successfully enforced the unsightly land provisions of Bayside’s local law. This resulted in the property’s grass being cut and rubbish removed. The property was also fenced.

Unfortunately, Council does not have legal authority to manage dilapidated, unoccupied buildings.

We are aware of media reports of suspected illegal activity however Victoria Police is the responsible authority for dealing with this activity. Council has no powers in this matter.

Council officers will continue to monitor the property for compliance with Council’s local law.
