Enjoying the fun and freedom of bike riding is definitely one of the joys of childhood.
As part of NSW Bike Week, Blue Mountains City Council is offering two free Kids Bike Skills Workshops on Saturday 22 September, 2018 at Blackheath Public School.
The workshops are for children 12 years and under who are already able to ride unassisted. These workshops will provide an opportunity to improve their riding confidence and bike handling skills through a series of fun bike games under the guidance of AustCycle qualified bike trainers.
Workshop times
Saturday 22 September, 10am – 12pm, 5 - 8 year olds Saturday 22 September, 12.30pm – 2.30pm, 9 – 12 year oldsBookings for these workshops are essential as there are limited places. Each child will need to bring a bicycle in working order, a bike helmet and to wear closed shoes. A parent or carer will need to accompany participating children on the day.
Children participating will receive a free show bag with some handy bike information and goodies. There will also be free basic bike maintenance on the day and a sausage sizzle on the day.
This will be the 12th year that Blue Mountains City Council is participating in Bike Week and this year’s event is in collaboration with the Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre.
NSW Bike Week is a NSW Government initiative that raises the profile of cycling as a healthy, easy and environmentally friendly alternative to driving for short trips in our community.
