Spring brings a packed program of events for foodies, culture lovers and healthy living enthusiasts. You don't have to travel far (or even leave Perth) for a one-of-a-kind experience to remember against the scenic backdrop of rolling hills, wildflowers and waterfalls. Whether it’s a comedy night, lunch at a cidery, the Wonderful Indonesia festival at Araluen Botanic Park, a food and artisan market, or a yoga and meditation retreat – you're spoilt for choice during the Spring into Armadale Festival.

Roleystone Markets Sunday 9 September, 10am – 3pm Cross Park, Corner of Jarrah and Wygonda Road, Roleystone Enjoy a spring market experience in beautiful bushland surroundings in the rolling hills of Roleystone. Stroll among 100 handpicked stalls while being entertained by wandering musicians from the Roleystone Musicians Club. Free

Millbrook Winery Spring Lunch Saturday 29 September, 11.30am – 3pm Millbrook Winery, Old Chestnut Lane, Jarrahdale Spring at Millbrook is beautiful; the vineyard emerging from dormancy and fruit trees bursting with colour. Start a tour of the winery and tasting with head winemaker Damian Hutton. Enjoy a canape and glass of wine before heading to the restaurant for a wine-matched long lunch prepared by an award winning chef and gardener Guy Jeffreys. Cost: $110

Bedfordale Bush Markets 8am – 1pm on 22 September, 27 October, 24 November Bedfordale Hall, 40 Admiral Road, Bedfordale Enjoy a day of markets selling local produce, art and craft, children's activities and nature play in the scenic bush setting adjacent to Bungedore Park. The market is run by local community volunteers in the spirit of nurturing self, community and the environment. Free entry

The Motherhood Comedy Night at Paddy’s Saturday 8 September, 8 – 10.30pm Paddy's Bush Bar and Grill, 1360 Brookton Hwy, Karragullen 'Surviving the Circus' The awesome foursome comedians bring a comical approach to being a 'mother' in 2018. Sell out shows, including Fringe Festival 2018. Cost: $30

Wonderful Indonesia 29 - 30 September, 10am – 5pm Araluen Botanic Park Immerse yourself in Indonesian culture with its rich cuisine and traditional dances. Acoustic Weekends by the Canning River Every Friday 5.30 – 8.30pm, Saturday and Sunday noon – 4pm Avocados Café, Corner of Mount Street and Brookton Local acoustic musicians provide the tunes to make for a relaxing weekend by the picturesque Canning River. Choose from an extensive menu, now being prepared by renowned chef Brad Richards from award winning Roleys on the Ridge. Free

Jarrahdale Walks - Sullivan’s Rock Sunday 23 September, 9am – noon Jarrahdale Post Office Museum 631, Jarrahdale Road, Jarrahdale Often mentioned as one of the best bush walks around Perth, Sullivan's Rock offers breathtaking views and great hiking to boot.
