Lydia Lassila has represented Australia in four Olympic Games and currently holds three world records, with her latest being the first woman in history ever to perform a quad-twisting triple somersault.
The jump was the most difficult jump ever attempted by a female aerial skier and earned Lydia a bronze medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. In 2010 she won an Olympic gold medal in Vancouver.
As well as being an elite athlete, Lydia is a mother, author of Jump and The Will to Fly, and successful entrepreneur launching her company Body Ice - a range of ice and heat packs to manage and treat injuries - while taking a break from competition.
In 2016, filmmakers Katie Bender and Leo Baker released a documentary on Lydia’s career and achievements titled ‘The Will to Fly’ and Lydia returned to competition for the last time at the 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics in South Korea.
Attendees can look forward to hearing from Lydia at the Women in Business Lunch on Friday 14 September, along with our MC, who is sports journalist and documentary maker, Angela Pippos.
